1. General information
The subject and its expected results respond to the following approaches and goals:
The general goal of the subject is to provide students with the tools to analyze the different situations of dependency and their social implications in different areas (family, benefits, emotional...), to know the dependency care system , and to be able to work in an interdisciplinary assessment team and in the implementation of individualized care plans . The student will know and be able to distinguish the models of attention to the dependency, from a national and international perspective.
These approaches and goals are transversally aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030 (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/). The acquisition of the learning results of the subject provides competencies and impact on the SDGs to improve the care and inclusion of people at risk, vulnerable people with disabilities and / or in situation of dependence.
2. Learning results
Upon successful completion of the subject, the student will be more competent to

Know and understand the legal, economic, political, administrative and social framework of the new system of social protection system created by the LAAD.

Be able to recognize and analyze the problems and needs of the different groups in a situation of dependence.

Be able to apply the methods and instruments for the assessment of dependence and the possible options to establish social intervention strategies.

Be able to assess dependency situations and analyze information for the elaboration of social reports, taking into account the participants' points of view, theoretical concepts, research data, legal norms and institutional procedures.

Be able to design, implement and evaluate intervention plans with the persons served and other professionals, negotiating the use of services and professionals negotiating the use of services and review the effectiveness of such plans.
3. Syllabus
The subject matter and content covered in the subject is as follows:
1. Disability, functional diversity and dependence. Diversity of affected groups.
2. Regulations governing the protection of dependent persons.
3. The SAAD: Administrative structure and financing; benefits and services.
4. Dependency in the framework of social intervention.
5. Models of care for dependency
6. Caregivers and informal support. Caring for the caregiver
7. Alerts about possible inadequate care for the person in a dependency situation.
8. Dependency care and professional ethics.
4. Academic activities
The subject aims to promote learning through an active methodology that involves participation and critical reflection.

Participative lectures: sessions with the teacher in which the subject matter will be explained: 25 hours

5. Assessment system
They will consist of a mixed system in continuous assessment, which is composed of the following assessment activities:
- Assessment of the activities carried out during the term (continuous assessment).
- Written knowledge test, 50%. It will be necessary to obtain a (5/10) to pass the subject, and averaging with the other assessment sections. It must be shown that the key concepts and theoretical contents are mastered in an analytical and precise manner. Both multiple-choice questionnaires and multiple-choice questions, practical assumptions or other written tests may be given to account for this part of the credits of the subject (e.g. multiple-choice test (correct - incorrect) and/or short questions and/or developmental questions and/or resolution of practical cases).
- Practices carried out in class and delivery of an individual portfolio, 30%. It is mandatory to attend at least 80% of practical classes.
- Student participation and tutored work 20%.
- Overall assessment system (single) Written knowledge test, 70% of the grade. It will be necessary to take out a (5/10). Practical knowledge test 30%. Assessent criteria: correct answer to questions, resolution of the situations or practical cases that are presented in accordance with the theoretical and conceptual approaches, mastery of the contents of the subject, clarity of exposition and formal correctness.
